Weekend Reflections - Kayaker

On a recent boat ride on Canyon Lake in Arizona, I spied this woman kayaking with her black dog. Then, all of a sudden, a little white haired dog popped his head up! I couldn't believe she could fit both dogs in her little boat. They both sat as still as could be as she paddled around!

Weekend Reflection - Take a Dip!

With the dog days of summer upon us, how about a refreshing dip in the old watering hole? I love the bright colors of these huge "pool" toys and their mirrored reflections in the dark water.

Weekend Reflections - Full Metal Robe

Some of my followers might have seen this before. This is a beautiful exhibit in the Seattle Art Museum called, "Some/One" by Do-Ho Suh, made up of thousands of dog tags.

Reflections in a Puddle

When it rains in Arizona, the water has nowhere to go in the park where we stay. It tends to just stand around till the sun dries it up. This means there are puddles everywhere. (This doesn't happen very often, mind you!) This is a reflection of one of the park models. I love the blue skies and puffy clouds plus the palm tree, all captured in the reflection in the puddle.

Desert Oasis

Last week we received many, many inches of rain here in Arizona. It is very rare to see puddles and drainage areas filled with water - at least not in monsoon season. I was at a shopping center and saw these two perfect reflections from a standing pool of water and couldn't resist snapping some photos. Click to enlarge the photos.

Shiny Chrome

This week's contribution for Weekend Reflections is a photo of our 5th wheel trailer reflected in the fender of our big blue truck. You can see the awning out on our trailer, and the sunny blue Arizona sky. This is our home - we've be traveling for just about five years in this baby!

Raindrops keep falling on my head

For our connecting flight to Chicago, we made a quick stop in Dallas. It was raining that day. Before the plane left the gate, I gazed out the window and saw the perfect photo for weekend reflections. I quick grabbed my camera and snapped it. I think this guy pushes the plane away from the gate. Yeah. He's pretty strong.



I was happy with that photo, then enter stage left (or is it stage right, I can never get that right!) Mr. I'm-feeling-like-a-Chiquita-banana-Guy here. Yowzer! There's no missing him!

Weekend Reflections #16

Although the holiday season is over, I couldn't resist posting these Christmas reflections.


This first one is a photo of the 18 foot Christmas tree that is in the ballroom at the resort where we spend the winter months in Arizona. The decorations were gorgeous this year throughout the ballroom and the park.



This second photo was taken at my sister's house. She also decorates her house so beautifully. I just loved the reflection of the decorations in the mirror, with the lighting just coming from the Christmas lights and candles.

Weekend Reflections #13

This sculpture is affectionately called "The Bean", located in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. It's official name is "Cloud Gate", by Anish Kapoor. I love how the skyline is reflected in the sculpture. Obviously this was taken during the summer. If you were to walk by it today, there would be snow on the ground and snow flurries in the air!
